About

Welcome to Struggle Muffins!

First things first: a big muchos gracias for taking the time to read my blog.

Secondly, I love all things nutrition, yoga and fitness-related.

And now let’s get something out in the open: I’m a work in progress. I’m not a finished product who’s here to present some one-sided views about the things I’m passionate about.

I have an insatiable appetite for learning about health and fitness and because I’m so into it, I’ve racked up a bit of knowledge about these things. So I might know a thing or two about a thing or two, but I’m always learning more, as the trends and theories that govern these fields are constantly changing.

Since it can be confusing and perhaps even overwhelming to separate the good information from the bad, I want to share my knowledge and passion with others so they can be better-equipped to obtain their health goals – so much so that I’ve decided to cut the cord from my advertising career and pursue a career in the wonderful world of nutrition, fitness and yoga.

Enter Struggle Muffins…

This blog is designed to illustrate my pursuits, capturing not only the victories I experience, but also the struggles, as there are many. I seem to have developed somewhat of a knack for struggling – to the point that my friends started loving calling me ‘struggle muffin.’

The reason I wanted to infuse this blog with some of my struggles is because they’re relevant to what I want to do as a health educator. I’ll ‘splain: basically, my love for exercise has set me on a perpetual journey to uncover uncharted fitness territory and likewise, my love for nutrition has compelled me to try out all sorts of different healthy – and sometimes eyebrow-raising – concoctions. With all this fitness and nutritional experimentation going on I sometimes find myself injured, or in some sort of food-related distress. I’ve become much more adept at listening to – and heeding – my body’s messages, which is not always an easy thing to do in our highly processed, quick-fix society. It occurred to me that maaayyyybe, just maybe, the successes and struggles I experience as I navigate this somewhat bumpy road toward personal and professional fulfillment could be insightful to other people. I’ve certainly learned a lot from the steps – and missteps- I’ve taken to figure out where I’m going in life.

Maybe my story might shed some light for you. And if nothing else, you can just laugh at my struggles.
